Cime du Bosc, Mountain summit in Alpes Maritimes, France.
Cime du Bosc is a mountain summit in the Alpes-Maritimes region, reaching 1120 meters between Breil and Sospel. From the top, you can see across the surrounding valleys and toward the surrounding Alpine landscape.
The summit is connected to fortifications from the Maginot Line, built before World War II. These military structures remain visible along the hiking trails and show the strategic importance of the region during that era.
Eleven marked trails cross the slopes of Bosc summit, where local hikers maintain the tradition of alpine trekking throughout the seasons.
The main entry point for the climb starts at Col de Brouis at 879 meters, accessible by road from Breil-sur-Roya. During good weather and clear conditions, this makes for a reasonable route for a half or full day excursion.
This location marks a natural crossroads where the Bévéra and Roya valleys meet. Many long-distance hiking routes use this geographical position to connect different Alpine areas together.
