Maison du Portugal - André de Gouveia

Maison du Portugal is a student residence at Cité universitaire that houses 169 students in a concrete and glass building. The structure contains both single and double rooms spread across multiple floors, along with communal spaces designed for daily student life.

The residence was built in 1967 with funding from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation under the name Maison des étudiants portugais. It was renamed in 1974 to honor the Portuguese scholar after whom it is now known.

The building honors a Portuguese humanist who shaped French academic life, reflecting deep historical ties between the two nations. This heritage remains visible in how residents from different backgrounds share the spaces and participate in cultural events.
