Porte du Boulevard

The Porte du Boulevard is a medieval gate in Le Mont-Saint-Michel that forms a passage through the fortification system. It connects the lower town with the higher sections of the island and consists of massive stone walls with a narrow passage.

The gate was built in the Middle Ages and served as a control point at the boundary between the town and the island. For a long time it was essential for the defense and regulation of access to the fortified island.
