Žedno

Žedno is a small rural settlement positioned between the Croatian mainland and Čiovo island, with traditional stone houses scattered across about 3.7 square kilometers. The dwellings feature typical Dalmatian architectural details that define the area's character.

This settlement grew up near Trogir, which was founded by Greek colonists in the 3rd century BC. Roman and Venetian influences later shaped the architecture and character of the wider region.

The people here maintain fishing and farming practices that have passed through families for many generations. These daily activities shape how the village looks and feels throughout the year.

The settlement connects to Trogir through local roads and offers access to nearby UNESCO World Heritage sites and coastal attractions. Expect uneven paths and bring sun protection when visiting during warm months.

Only a handful of people live in Žedno, making it one of the quietest and most authentic corners of the region. This small population means visitors can experience rural life without crowds or noise.
