Čiovo bridge

The Čiovo bridge is a steel structure that links Trogir to the island of Čiovo, serving both vehicle and foot traffic across the water. Its middle section can be lifted to allow boats to pass underneath when needed.

The bridge opened in 2018 to improve traffic between Trogir and the island of Čiovo. Major maintenance work took place in 2021 to strengthen the structure and upgrade its systems.

The bridge design incorporates features that complement the surrounding UNESCO-protected city center while maintaining its primary function as a transportation link.

The bridge is open to cars and pedestrians during the day and provides a reliable crossing between the two shores. Drive carefully and watch for any traffic signals or safety instructions posted along the route.

The bridge features a movable middle section that can be raised when sailboats or other watercraft need to pass underneath. This bascule design is common for modern connections between mainland and islands in the region.
