Pilisszentlélek

Pilisszentlélek is a village set in a forested valley between the Pilis and Visegrád mountains, located near Esztergom in northern Hungary. The terrain features dense woodlands and green hillsides that shape the character of the place.

The settlement began in 1263 when King Béla IV gave the wooded valley to the Pauline order to establish a monastery. This religious foundation shaped the place's development for centuries to come.

The settlement carries memories of Slovak settlers who arrived in the early 1700s and built their homes following traditional patterns. This heritage shapes how the streets look and how people here connect with their past.

The area is best explored on foot, with marked trails that wind through the surrounding forests and connect to the monastery ruins. These paths are accessible year-round, though spring and autumn offer the most pleasant conditions for walking.

Since 2016, the village has served as a filming location for a popular television series that depicts the fictional town of Pajkaszeg. The show has brought the place to wider attention across Hungary and draws fans to visit.
