Zöld Cave, Cave in Budakalász, Hungary.

Located on the eastern side of Nagy-Kevély mountain, Zöld Cave stands approximately 100 meters from an old limestone quarry in the Pilis Mountains.

Archaeological excavations in 2002 revealed significant findings from multiple periods, including Bronze Age artifacts, Roman remains, and medieval objects within the cave system.

Research teams continue to study the cave, examining Holocene deposits and investigating evidence of human activities dating back to the late Ice Age period.

Visitors can reach the cave by following a green tourist trail from the limestone quarry rest area, then walking westward before taking an unmarked path uphill.

The discovery of stone tools and cut marks on reindeer and horse bones indicates the cave served as a temporary shelter for hunters between 18,000 and 12,000 years ago.
