Tabriz Cable Bridge, Cable-stayed road bridge in Tabriz, Iran
The Tabriz Cable Bridge is a cable-stayed road bridge made of concrete that spans 113 meters across the city. Steel cables extend from tall pylons to support the roadway and distribute the weight of traffic passing over it.
The bridge was built through a partnership between Iranian and French engineering teams, with construction running from 2003 to 2007. Its completion marked a significant advancement in the city's transportation infrastructure at that time.
Known locally as Ettehad-e-Melli, meaning National Unity, the bridge represents modern engineering progress in East Azerbaijan province through international partnerships.
The structure serves as a major traffic connection on the eastern side of Tabriz, linking different parts of the city for daily transportation. Visiting during daylight hours gives you the best view of how the cables and support structures work together.
The Municipality of Tabriz maintains this bridge, which required an investment of 75 million dollars during its construction phase.
