Aviano

Aviano is a town in Friuli-Venezia Giulia located at the base of the Dolomites. Residential areas and streets are organized around a NATO air base that significantly shapes the community's layout.

The area was settled during the Bronze Age and later became strategically important for military purposes. An airfield was built here in 1911 for Italian forces, fundamentally transforming the town's development.
