Foppolo

The municipality extends across 16.2 square kilometers in the Lombardy region, positioned at an elevation of 1615 meters in the northern part of Bergamo province.

The village faced a severe avalanche in January 1977 that caused significant damage and resulted in the loss of eight lives within the community.

The traditional mountain architecture of Foppolo reflects the local building methods with stone structures and wooden elements typical of Alpine settlements.

During winter months, the ski resort provides access to 26 different ski runs through 12 lifts, connecting with the neighboring resort of Carona Carisole.

The ski area encompasses 30 kilometers of slopes starting from an altitude of 2200 meters down to 1635 meters, making it the highest resort in Bergamo province.
