Casasco d'Intelvi, Former mountain municipality in Centro Valle Intelvi, Italy
Casasco d'Intelvi was a mountain settlement standing at 819 meters elevation, roughly 50 kilometers north of Milan and 15 kilometers from Como, close to the Swiss border. The community occupied about 4 square kilometers of terrain and was home to approximately 475 residents.
The settlement merged with San Fedele Intelvi and Castiglione d'Intelvi on January 1, 2018, forming the new municipality of Centro Valle Intelvi. This consolidation brought together three separate communities under a single administration.
Locals held onto traditions through seasonal celebrations and community gatherings that shaped life in the Como area. These gatherings formed the fabric of village life in the mountain region.
The settlement used postal code 22023 and area code 031 for communication and deliveries. Visitors should prepare for mountainous terrain conditions that affect travel times and require careful navigation in the region.
The mountainous location historically shaped how people farmed and worked with the land in this area. This relationship between terrain and daily labor remains visible today in the way the landscape has been organized and used.
