Santa Maria del Carmine

Santa Maria del Carmine is a Baroque church in Naples featuring a tall bell tower decorated with painted majolica tiles. The building combines Ionic, Doric, and Corinthian architectural elements throughout its structure.

Carmelite friars founded this place in 1200 after being displaced from Mount Carmel during the Crusades. They arrived in Naples by ship from Amalfi and built their new spiritual center there.
