The San Giovanni Grisostomo church features a square form with a Greek cross design, red-gold tinted plaster exterior, and harmonious internal proportions.
Founded in 1080 and rebuilt after a fire in 1475, the church was completed in 1504 under the direction of architect Mauro Codussi.
The church holds Giovanni Bellini's final painting from 1513 and Sebastiano del Piombo's 'Seven Saints' created between 1508 and 1511.
The church opens daily for visitors, offering guided tours that explain the architectural elements and the collection of Renaissance paintings.
The interior walls display a series of detailed canvases illustrating the life of Saint John Chrysostom, the golden-mouthed bishop of Constantinople.
