ACI Vallelunga Circuit, Motorsport racing track in Campagnano di Roma, Italy
The ACI Vallelunga Circuit is a motorsport racing track in Campagnano di Roma, roughly 30 kilometers north of Rome, known for its elevation shifts and tight corner sections. The facility offers several track layouts that can be combined depending on the event and vehicle class.
The site began in 1951 as a sand oval and was rebuilt and expanded several times over the following decades. Major work in the 1960s transformed it into a modern paved racing track with new sectors.
The facility takes its name from Piero Taruffi, a driver who tested new racing techniques here and later developed safety standards for motorsport. On most days you can hear engines roaring across the surrounding hills, while mechanics move between the garages working on vehicles.
Visitors reach the track via the main road heading north from Rome, with parking available near the pit lane. On event days the stands and spectator areas open depending on the schedule, and arriving early helps secure better viewing spots.
A racing simulation software company operates directly from one of the pit garages and uses the track regularly to test virtual models. The developers can compare real vehicles alongside their digital versions and capture data in real time.
