Pontremoli Cathedral

Pontremoli Cathedral is a church with a large central nave and smaller side chapels, topped by a tall dome at its heart. This dome rises above the crossing and shapes the interior with its height and structural presence.

Construction began in 1636 under architect Alessandro Capra and replaced earlier religious structures on the site. Work finished in 1687, marking the end of a building campaign that spanned several decades.
