The Torrazzo measures 112.54 meters in height and features a brick construction with Romanesque architectural elements and an octagonal upper section.
Construction of the tower began in the 1230s and continued through four distinct building phases until its final completion in 1309.
The tower contains an astronomical clock from 1583 measuring 8.2 meters in diameter, displaying zodiac signs, solar movements, and lunar phases.
Visitors who climb the 504 steps to reach the observation platform receive panoramic views of the Cremona cityscape and Po Valley.
The structure holds the distinction of being the oldest existing brick building exceeding 100 meters in height.
