Church of San Dalmazzo, Turin, Gothic Revival church in central Turin, Italy.
The Church of San Dalmazzo is a Gothic Revival building in central Turin with ornately decorated interiors. The nave walls display large-scale frescoes that were painted by artist Enrico Reffo between 1895 and 1916.
The original structure dates back to the 11th century and underwent a complete reconstruction in 1702. The current Gothic Revival appearance was achieved through modifications that were finished in 1885.
The church is dedicated to Saint Dalmatius and houses a chapel modeled after the sanctuary of Loreto in Italy. Visitors can see religious artworks from different periods that reflect the spiritual traditions of Turin.
The church is situated in the old town area and is readily accessible to visitors. Opening times follow the service schedule, so it is best to check ahead before planning a visit.
From the 13th to the 17th century, the church was managed by a religious community dedicated to caring for the sick. Later a different religious order took over, fundamentally shaping the place's direction.
