Saint Florentius church

Saint Florentius church is a Gothic chapel in Bastia Mondovì whose walls are covered from floor to ceiling with detailed medieval frescoes. These paintings display religious scenes and biblical narratives in vibrant colors and fine detail.

The chapel was completed on June 24, 1472, and kept its original Gothic design through the centuries. The building endured through different periods while maintaining its essential structures.

The painted interior walls tell biblical stories through colorful images, making religious teachings visible and understandable to everyone who enters.

The site is open every Sunday from April to October between 3 PM and 7 PM, with free guided tours for visitors. It helps to visit during these opening times and check in advance about tour availability.

The walls feature depictions of demons and monsters that served as teaching tools to convey moral lessons to people who could not read. These visual representations helped residents understand religious and ethical concepts without needing to read text.
