San Bernardino, Ivrea, Renaissance church in Ivrea, Italy
The San Bernardino church stands on Via Monte Navale with its facade incorporating Gothic arches from an earlier construction phase.
Construction began in 1401, and by 1465 the original Gothic arches were integrated into new chapels during a significant architectural transformation.
The interior walls display twenty Renaissance frescoes depicting the Life and Passion of Christ, painted between 1480 and 1490 by Giovanni Martino Spanzotti.
The structure transformed into Olivetti company headquarters for social services between 1955 and 1958, following a period of military occupation.
The central spandrels contain rare medieval depictions of the Last Judgment and Hell, while lateral sections show the Expulsion from Paradise and Purgatory.
