Roman forum, Roman archaeological complex in Brescia, Italy

The Roman Forum encompasses a rectangular plaza measuring 40 meters wide by 120 meters long, featuring the Capitolium temple and basilica remains.

The site transformed from an Iron Age settlement into a Roman center in 196 BCE, reaching its final form under Emperor Vespasian in the first century CE.

The complex served as the economic, political, and social center of ancient Brixia with its temple dedicated to Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva.

The archaeological area connects to the Santa Giulia complex through the UNESCO Corridor, allowing visitors to explore multiple historical periods in one visit.

The site contains the largest collection of public Roman buildings in Northern Italy, including original first-century decorative elements in the Capitolium.
