Forte Corbin

Forte Corbin is a military fort located on the Asiago Plateau near Tresché Conca at 1,077 meters elevation. The structure includes several defensive works and observation posts arranged along the western edge of the plateau.

Construction took place between 1906 and 1914 as military defenses were established across the region. It fell to Austro-Hungarian forces in May 1916 following heavy artillery bombardment during the conflict.

The site now operates as a war museum where military equipment, photographs, and documents show how World War I affected the people living in this region. You can see personal stories and objects that reveal what locals endured during the conflict.

Follow signs from Tresché Conca church to reach the fort, where free parking is available for museum and restaurant visitors. Wear sturdy shoes since the grounds are uneven and exploration requires walking across different areas.

The Panozzo family converted the abandoned military site into an educational center that now welcomes thousands of students and researchers each year. This transformation has given the location new purpose and made it a destination for those seeking to understand this period of history.
