Museo dei campionissimi

The Museo dei Campionissimi is a history museum in Novi Ligure focused on bicycle evolution, displaying around 40 different models across the collection. These machines are arranged to show how materials and design changed over time, from early wooden frames to modern construction methods.

The museum opened in 2003 within a former ILVA industrial facility, a steelworks that once dominated the local economy. This conversion gave new life to an abandoned industrial space while preserving the region's deep ties to cycling.

The space honors two local cycling champions, Fausto Coppi and Costante Girardengo, through personal belongings, original documents, and reports from Gazzetta dello Sport that tell their stories. These two athletes remain central to how the city sees itself and its place in cycling history.
