Palazzo Mellini-Fossi

Palazzo Mellini-Fossi, Renaissance palace in Santa Croce district, Florence, Italy.

The Palazzo Mellini-Fossi is a Renaissance palace in the Santa Croce district that extends over three levels with seven bays along Via de' Neri. Its facade features rounded-arch windows arranged with stone bands that create horizontal divisions across the wall.

The site originally held houses of the da Castiglionchio family until they were sold to the Nori family in 1439. The Mellini family later constructed the current palace on this location.

The main facade displays the Mellini family coat of arms, showing a gold shield with a green band and three matching rings.

The palace is located on Via de' Neri in the Santa Croce district, easily accessible on foot from central Florence. Its facade is visible from the street, making it straightforward to examine the architectural details from the outside.

A stone marker at the base of the building records the Compagnia della Croce al Tempio with the number 22. This detail preserves the memory of a religious confraternity that once operated in this area.
