Palazzo delle Poste, Post office headquarters in Castellamare district, Palermo, Italy
The monumental public building spans 5100 square meters with a front colonnade of ten columns reaching 30 meters in height, clad in gray marble from Mount Billiemi.
Architect Angiolo Mazzoni designed the structure between 1926 and 1929, and construction proceeded from 1929 until its inauguration with communications minister Umberto Puppini in 1934.
The conference room contains five murals painted by Futurist artist Benedetta Cappa in 1933, depicting land, sea, air, telegraphic and radio communications through tempera and encaustic techniques.
The building reopened for public tours in 2017 following restoration work after a fire incident in 1988, maintaining its function as an administrative center for postal services.
The structure features an elliptical staircase exceeding 9 meters in diameter, crafted from red and black marbles, with copper-clad doors and specifically designed window handles.
