Ponte Rosello, Stone bridge in Sassari, Italy
The Ponte Rosello stretches 180 meters in length and 12 meters in width, featuring a three-lane roadway that spans across the Rosello valley.
Construction of the bridge was completed in 1934 under Mussolini's regime, initially named Ponte Littorio, to connect the historic center with the Monte Rosello district.
Bronze fasces decorations adorn the balustrades of the bridge, reflecting the architectural elements common during Italy's twentieth-century architectural period.
The bridge provides vehicle and pedestrian access between Sassari's historic center and the Monte Rosello neighborhood, with several viewing points along its length.
Historic bells positioned at the bridge ends were used during the fascist period to signal curfew times for the local population.
