Santuario di Maria Santissima dell'Itria

The Santuario di Maria Santissima dell'Itria features a single nave, a two-story facade with granite columns, and a large dome decorated with polychrome majolica tiles.

Built before 1541 as the Church of Trinity, the structure was destroyed in the 1783 earthquake and rebuilt according to Francesco Morani's designs in 1804.

The sanctuary contains numerous artworks, including an icon of the Holy Trinity on the main altar and a wooden statue group of Madonna dell'Itria created in 1798.

The sanctuary celebrates its main festival on the second Saturday of July with a procession through the streets of Polistena.

The crypt houses the remains of notable citizens connected to the Confraternity, including Donna Ottavia Valensise Fazzari, remembered for her charitable works.
