Teatro Luigi Mercantini, Municipal theatre in Ripatransone, Italy.
The theatre contains three tiers of boxes in a U-shaped layout within the Palazzo del Podestà, offering space for 253 spectators in its main hall.
Designed by architect Pietro Maggi in 1790, the theatre opened in 1824 as Teatro del Leone and received its current name in 1894 to honor poet Luigi Mercantini.
The ceiling features decorative floral patterns and portraits of notable figures including Rossini, Verdi, Alfieri, Bellini, Goldoni, and Metastasio.
Located at Piazza XX Settembre 1, the theatre reopened in 2012 after extensive renovations that improved accessibility for visitors with disabilities.
The theatre preserves an 1811 curtain painted by Giuseppe Ruffini depicting Virginia, a local heroine who died resisting Spanish soldiers.
