Villa Belvedere

Villa Belvedere is a three-story stone house in Art Nouveau style located near the Tuscan countryside in San Giuliano Terme. The structure features large windows, ornate exterior details, and sits surrounded by overgrown vegetation that has taken over the grounds.

The house was built in the early 1900s as a summer residence for a wealthy family. Over the second half of the 20th century, the family stopped maintaining it and the building gradually fell into decay.

The structure displays the flowing lines and nature-inspired ornaments typical of Art Nouveau design, visible in details across its exterior. These stylistic features reflected the architectural tastes favored by wealthy Italian families of that era.

You cannot enter the building due to safety concerns, but you can view the exterior from the nearby public road. The best views come from the street side, especially during morning hours when light hits the facade more favorably.

The building followed an unusual organization: the ground floor was for animals, the family lived on the middle floor, and the top floor served for storage. This vertical arrangement was typical for large country estates of that time.
