Sanctuary of Madonna del Carmine, Accadia

The Sanctuary of Madonna del Carmine sits on Mount Crispiniano in the Daunian Mountains at roughly 1,040 meters (3,400 feet) elevation. The building houses a marble relief depicting the Virgin Mary with her child, which serves as the focus of devotion at this mountain shrine.

The chapel was founded in 1694 by Giuseppe Recco, Duke of Accadia, who also donated the marble relief of the Virgin Mary. This noble patronage established the sanctuary as a recognized center for Mary's veneration in the region.
