Bridge between Trezzo sull’Adda and Capriate San Gervasio

The concrete bridge stretches 120 meters across the Adda River, with its main span extending 62.5 meters between Trezzo sull'Adda and Capriate San Gervasio.

The current structure, opened on December 13, 1953, replaced a medieval bridge from 1377 that held the record for the largest span for four centuries.

The original bridge connected to the Visconti Castle, representing the architectural and engineering capabilities of medieval Italian builders and their noble patrons.

The bridge serves as a vital transportation link between the municipalities of Trezzo sull'Adda and Capriate San Gervasio, accommodating both vehicles and pedestrians.

The medieval predecessor featured a remarkable 72-meter single arch span, which remained unmatched until the construction of the Wearmouth Bridge in England in 1796.
