Trezzo sull'Adda Bridge, Medieval deck arch bridge in Trezzo sull'Adda, Italy

The stone structure spans 72 meters across the Adda River with a height of 21 meters, featuring a single arch design supported by two abutments.

Commissioned by Bernabò Visconti in 1377, this bridge maintained the record for the largest masonry arch span until the industrial developments of the 20th century.

The bridge represents an engineering milestone of the medieval period, demonstrating the technical capabilities of Italian stone construction during the 14th century.

Located at coordinates 45.61213, 9.5234, the bridge connects the regions of Trezzo sull'Adda and Capriate San Gervasio across the Adda River.

The bridge's original fortified towers provided direct access to the Visconti Castle, until its partial destruction during the siege by Carmagnola in 1416.
