The religious site traces its origins to over 1000 years ago when monks from the Abbey of St Zeno in Verona established a hermitage for contemplation.
The church houses sculptures and contains a replica of Scala Santa, representing the steps Jesus walked in Pilate's palace according to Catholic tradition.
Visitors can reach the sanctuary through a two-hour hiking path from Brentino or by driving to Spiazzi and walking up a one-kilometer road.
The church structure sits on a thin shelf of rock on Mount Baldo, featuring two sets of access steps constructed to improve visitor accessibility.
