Madonna di Pompei Church, Religious sanctuary in Vigevano, Italy
The Madonna di Pompei Church is a religious building with three naves designed by engineer Spirito Maria Chiappetta. The structure was later expanded, with its facade and front bell tower completed as part of these modifications.
The building was founded in 1920 and replaced a smaller church that previously stood on this site. Devotion to Madonna di Pompei was initiated here by Don Ambrogio Ceriotti.
The interior walls display fifteen Rosary mysteries painted by local artists. These images tell religious stories and shape how the space feels when you walk through it.
The building is accessible during regular opening hours, allowing visitors to explore the three naves and painted walls. There is an outdoor area with a statue where you can view the exterior in a peaceful setting.
A bronze statue in the churchyard commemorates Don Ambrogio Ceriotti, who began promoting devotion to Madonna di Pompei in 1897. This statue shows how closely the church's story is tied to one man's spiritual work.
