Rocca di Rasiglia, Medieval fortress in Rasiglia, Italy

The fortress extends across the hilltop with a rectangular layout, featuring a central keep, two defensive towers, and sections of the original perimeter walls.

The Trinci family commissioned the construction of the fortress between 1305 and 1439 to protect the borders from Sellano and the Diocese of Spoleto.

The fortress stands at an elevation of 700 meters, representing the military architecture of medieval Umbrian defensive structures in the Menotre Valley.

Visitors can explore the remaining structures of the fortress, including restored sections of walls that provide views of the surrounding mountainous landscape.

The fortress appears in the 1421 Liber Officiorum by notary Benedetto Rampeschi under the name Castrum et Roccha Rasiliae.
