Sekai Mumei Senshi no Haka

The Sekai Mumei Senshi no Haka stands on Mount Taikan, featuring a stone monument that honors unidentified soldiers from numerous military conflicts throughout history.

Constructed in 1955, this memorial contains the remains of 264 soldiers and commemorates 2.51 million military personnel from over 60 nations who died during World War II.

The monument holds annual Buddhist services during the second weekend of May, accompanied by traditional ceremonies, markets, and community gatherings.

Visitors can reach the memorial by taking a bus from Higashimatsuyama Station on the Tobu Tojo Line to the Hyakketsu Entrance, followed by a seven-minute walk.

The memorial includes separate monuments dedicated to war horses, making it one of the few sites that recognize the contributions of animals in military service.
