Sekai Mumei Senshi no Haka

The Sekai Mumei Senshi no Haka sits on Mount Taikan and features a stone monument honoring unidentified soldiers from numerous military conflicts throughout history. The grounds include multiple memorials and burial sites arranged across the landscape.

The memorial was established in 1955 as Japan began honoring those lost in military conflicts during the post-war period. Its creation reflected the nation's effort to remember soldiers from different nations who had died in war.

The site hosts annual Buddhist ceremonies during the second weekend of May, where visitors gather for traditional rituals, local market stalls, and community events.

The best route to reach the memorial is by bus from Higashimatsuyama Station to the Hyakketsu area, followed by a short uphill walk. Wear comfortable shoes for the climb, as the grounds are situated on a hillside.

The site includes dedicated monuments to war horses, making it one of the few places that recognizes the role of animals in military service. These memorials show how crucial horses were to military operations throughout history.
