Yahikoyama Ropeway, Aerial tramway on Mount Yahiko, Japan.
The Yahikoyama Ropeway extends across 419 meters, carrying passengers in cabins that accommodate 35 people while moving at 3.7 meters per second.
The Yahikoyama Ropeway began operations in April 1958, marking the establishment of mountain access infrastructure in the Nishikanbara district of Niigata Prefecture.
The aerial tramway provides transport to Mount Yahiko near the traditional Yahiko Shrine, connecting visitors with Japanese mountain traditions and religious sites.
Passengers reach the summit in 5 minutes, where they access the Panorama Tower observatory that offers views extending to Sado Island on clear days.
The system operates on three cables with a total length of 981 meters, featuring two stations and rotating observation facilities at the upper terminal.
