Country Farm Tokyo German Village is a theme park in Sodegaura that rolls across wooded hills and open meadows linking flower beds, playgrounds, and footpaths. The grounds include a central lake with pedal boats, a petting zoo with goats and rabbits, and several pavilions serving as restaurants and souvenir shops.
The park was built in the early 2000s to introduce European architecture and garden design to Japanese visitors. The operators planted thousands of rose bushes and constructed buildings modeled on 19th-century German villages.
The layout follows a traditional German village plan with half-timbered houses and a central market square where visitors sample bratwurst and beer. Families gather at long wooden tables in the beer garden under chestnut trees while folk music plays in the background.
The entrance sits near the main road with clear signage and a large parking lot directly in front of the gate. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes because the paths between areas are long and sometimes hilly.
Every autumn the park organizes a pumpkin festival where hundreds of carved pumpkins line the paths and glow at night. The organizers invite local artists to create sculptures from pumpkins that often reach several meters in height.
