Mount Ōasa

Mount Ōasa rises 538 meters above sea level in the Sanuki mountain range, featuring diverse vegetation patterns across its slopes throughout four distinct seasons.

The mountain has maintained its position as a central geographical marker in the Tokushima Prefecture since the establishment of regional borders during the Edo period.

Local residents gather annually at Mount Ōasa for traditional ceremonies that include morning meditation sessions and nature observation walks through established paths.

Visitors can reach the mountain summit via three marked hiking trails, with the eastern route providing the most gradual ascent over a 2.5-kilometer distance.

The mountain contains several naturally formed rock formations that create wind tunnels, producing musical sounds when strong air currents pass through the gaps.
