Taikouyama Land

Taikouyama Land is a large recreation park in Imizu with expanses of green space and diverse facilities for outdoor activities. The grounds include tennis courts, fountains, swimming pools, and spacious grass areas suited for picnicking and leisure.

The park opened in 1983 to mark the 100th anniversary of Toyama Prefecture's founding. This milestone reflected the region's growth and commitment to public recreation spaces.

The grounds feature a traditional Japanese tea house in gassho-zukuri style, where tea ceremonies and haiku gatherings happen regularly throughout the year. Visitors experience authentic rituals and poetic gatherings that connect them to Japanese customs.

The park offers ample parking and rental services for bicycles, electric vehicles, and boats to help you explore the grounds. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring weather-appropriate clothing, as you will spend most of your time outdoors.

A miniature steam train circles the park, offering visitors a guided route through all areas and attractions. This ride is a popular way to experience the scale of the grounds without walking the entire perimeter.
