Uwajima City Historical Museum

The Uwajima City Historical Museum occupies a Western-style stone building from 1884 with exhibition spaces spread across multiple floors displaying local artifacts and documents. The layout guides you naturally through the city's historical periods and cultural heritage.

The building started as a police station until 1953, then served elsewhere as a town hall before returning to Uwajima in 1992 for its museum role. This transformation from administrative use to cultural institution reflects how the city adapted historical spaces for new purposes.
