Mount Fuji Radar Dome Museum

The Mount Fuji Radar Dome Museum displays meteorological equipment and scientific instruments used for monitoring weather patterns around Mount Fuji throughout different seasons.

From 1965 to 1999, the radar dome operated at Mount Fuji's summit as a detection system for storm monitoring before its relocation to Fujiyoshida in 2004.

The museum presents the relationship between Japanese meteorological research and Mount Fuji through interactive exhibits, educational programs, and scientific demonstrations.

Located at Araya 3-chome-7-2, the museum operates daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with admission fees of 630 yen for adults and 420 yen for students.

Visitors experience simulated weather conditions similar to those at Mount Fuji's summit in a specialized chamber that reproduces wind patterns and temperature variations.
