Oshino Shinobi no Sato, Ninja theme park in Oshino, Japan.
Oshino Shinobi no Sato is a ninja-themed park in Oshino, near Mount Fuji, made up of several traditional-style buildings spread across a wooded site. It has a dojo for shuriken throwing, a Karakuri House with hidden doors and passages, and rooms displaying historical weapons and gear.
The park opened in 2015 with the goal of keeping ninja techniques alive through direct experience rather than just written records. It draws from the Iga and Koka traditions, which were the two main historical centers of ninja schools in Japan.
The Karakuri House lets visitors walk through rooms fitted with hidden doors and trap mechanisms that ninja once used to confuse or escape enemies. These are not decorations but working reproductions of tools that had a practical purpose.
Ninja costumes are available to rent on site, and putting one on is part of how most visitors engage with the place. Arriving early in the day helps, since the live shows and dojo area tend to fill up as the morning goes on.
Children who finish the full training program receive an official certificate recognizing their newly acquired ninja skills. It is not a souvenir but a genuine credential based on completing a tested set of techniques.
