Jigen-ji

Jigen-ji is a Buddhist temple nestled at the foot of mountains in Tokushima Prefecture featuring traditional Japanese buildings and landscaped grounds. Stone arrangements and garden pathways guide visitors through distinct areas designed for prayer and spiritual practice.

The temple was established as the third station along the Pilgrimage of the 20 exceptional temples of Shikoku, positioned between Dōgaku-ji and Yasaka-dera. This role made it an important waypoint for pilgrims traveling through the region for spiritual purposes.
