Keio Senior High School, Private school in Kōhoku-ku, Japan
Keio Senior High School is an all-boys high school located on Hiyoshi Campus in Kōhoku-ku, serving around 2,200 students across several modern buildings. The facility includes classrooms, sports areas, and a sprawling campus that extends over multiple levels.
The school was created in 1948 by merging Keio's first and second high schools following the introduction of the 1947 School Education Act in Japan. This reform reshaped the entire education system of the country and led to the current structure of the institution.
The school's baseball team won the 2023 national summer championship after 107 years without a victory. The sport holds a special place here and many students follow their team's games with great enthusiasm.
Students begin with compulsory subjects in the early years and select elective courses in the final year based on their academic interests. The campus is well accessible and the buildings are equipped with modern facilities that offer different learning environments.
Every student must complete a graduation thesis known in Japanese as sotsugyoukenkyu, which requires independent research on a self-chosen topic. This thesis develops research skills and analytical thinking already at the high school level.
