日輪寺, Buddhist temple in Yanaka, Taito-ku, Japan.
The temple features an outdoor bronze Buddha statue created by Ota Yemen and a statue of Kannon, the Buddhist deity of mercy and compassion.
Constructed in 1274, Tennoji Temple served as a sanctuary for the Tendai Buddhist sect and protected a carving made by the priest Nichiren.
The temple grounds include a cemetery that provides visitors with insights into Japanese Buddhist burial customs and religious practices.
Visitors can reach the temple by taking a short walk from Nippori Station's west exit, following stone steps leading to the cemetery area.
The temple's pagoda and Buddha statue remained intact during the 1868 civil war, while most other structures were destroyed by the conflict.
