Akeai Kofun

Akeai Kofun is a square-shaped burial mound in Tsu City measuring approximately 81 meters long, 60 meters wide, and 10 meters in height. The structure is composed of compacted earth and displays the typical form of tombs from the Kofun period.

The burial mound dates to the early 5th century during Japan's Middle Kofun period and was designated a national historic site in 1949. This recognition highlights its importance for understanding this early historical era.
