Waseda University Honjo Senior High School, Private high school in Honjo, Japan.
The institution is a private high school in Honjo district, located roughly 60 kilometers north of Tokyo. The grounds combine concrete buildings with open athletic facilities and feature a gymnasium with exposed concrete facades.
The school opened its doors in 1982 as part of a project marking the centennial anniversary of Waseda University. It began admitting female students in 2007, ending its time as a boys-only institution.
Students wear the campus sweater bearing the embroidered motto during transition seasons before changing into their regular uniform. International guests from China and Taiwan regularly visit the campus for exchange programs.
The campus sits roughly a ten-minute walk from Honjo-Waseda station on the JR Takasaki Line. Outsiders can view the athletic grounds and school building from public walkways without entering the interior spaces.
The gymnasium uses tubes in the ceiling for both air conditioning and lighting at the same time, keeping the interior free of hanging elements. Daylight enters through narrow openings in the walls and spreads softly across the gymnasium floor.
