東沢バラ公園

Higashizawa Rose Park is a large botanical garden filled with thousands of rose plants from many different countries. The grounds are laid out so visitors can walk along paths and see numerous varieties throughout the space.

The park was founded in 2002 and quickly became a recognized rose garden in the region. Recognition from Japan's Ministry of Environment confirmed its importance as a noted garden landscape in the country.

The park displays the Murayama Rose, a locally developed variety that shows the horticultural skill of the region's growers. This rose reflects the passion of local breeders to create varieties suited to this climate.

The park is open only during the warmer months from March through November, with the best appearance in spring and fall. The best time to visit is early in the day when the grounds are less crowded and light conditions are better for viewing the roses.

Three lakes run through the park grounds and create mirror surfaces for the rose beds. These bodies of water add another dimension to the garden and offer quiet spots to pause while exploring the plants.
