Negoro-ji

Negoro-ji Temple stands on Mount Aōmine, featuring multiple halls dedicated to Buddhist worship and traditional Japanese religious architecture.

Established between 810 and 824, the temple was founded by Buddhist masters Kūkai and Enchin during their spiritual journeys through the region.

The temple houses a wooden statue of the Thousand-Armed Kannon, designated as an Important Cultural Property and displayed once every 33 years.

Located 30 minutes by car from JR Takamatsu Station, the temple maintains a parking area for 20 vehicles and opens daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The temple grounds contain a collection of 33,000 Kannon statues donated by followers from across Japan, displayed in the Mantai Kannon section.
