Sakurayama Park is a large green space in Fukagawa featuring numerous cherry trees of different varieties spread across rolling terrain. The site offers diverse landscapes and is open to visitors at no charge throughout the year.

The site originated in 1971 as an amusement area with rides and animal attractions before undergoing a major transformation. It became a nature-focused park in 2000, shifting away from its earlier entertainment function.

The park serves as a gathering place for the local community each May, when residents come together to celebrate the cherry blossom season through traditional activities. Visitors can observe how the blooming period brings people out to share the natural beauty and seasonal rhythms.

The park is open throughout the day at no cost and offers parking areas along with accessible pathways for all visitors. The best time to visit is during the warmer months, as some areas may have limited access during winter.

Two preserved steam locomotives stand as silent reminders of the region's railway heritage within the park grounds. These restored engines offer an unexpected glimpse into the industrial past that contrasts with the natural setting.
